Sam Lewis
Sam Lewis is editor of Caring Times magazine and has been writing about the adult social care sector for over two years. With a background in B2B and magazine journalism, Sam trained at the University of Edinburgh and Cardiff University and has been a full-time journalist for more than five years.
As well as being editor-in-chief for Caring Times, which is owned by Nexus Media Group, Sam also helps organise some of Nexus’ biggest events for the care sector, including the Care Managers Show, the Healthcare Summit, the National Care Awards and the Caring Times Owners Club.
In the course of his work covering the care sector, Sam, who is from South Wales, frequently finds himself drawing on his own experience caring for grandparents and working as a personal assistant to adults with disabilities in their own homes. Topics about which he is especially passionate include: securing proper, fully-funded adult social care reform for the UK, changing the conversation around independent safety monitoring in dementia care settings and recognising the sacrifices made by the country’s countless unpaid carers.
