Mike founded Barchester in 1992. By the time he stepped down as CEO in 2013, the company had grown to over 200 homes with 17,000 employees.

He then founded Dormy Care Communities where he is the Chair. He was also a non-exec of McCarthy and Stone, Chair of Oomph, Chair of Albion Care Communities, and is a major investor in Jelly Drops, RAD Propulsion, Purozo and Bay’s Kitchen. He is the Vice Chair of Care England.
