Ian Turner
Ian read pure and applied mathematics at Newcastle University before joining International Computers (now part of Fujitsu) in the early 1970s. In 1984 he purchased a property converting it into a nursing home and now has six homes with 270 beds in East Anglia, offering nursing and residential care to older people and those living with dementia. Ian has chaired the Registered Nursing Home Association for the past 10 years and in May this year became co-chair of National Care Association following the merger with RNHA. In the 2010s Ian was seconded into the Department of Health/ Local Government Association team implementing the Care Act in an advisory capacity following his experience as an independent provider, having managed The Partnership in Care group for the past 30 years. Ian manages the Better Security Better Care Programme and the Digital Social Care Project and website.
