Latchmore Associates is a healthcare advisory boutique which supports public and private sector healthcare organisations to develop and implement commercial strategy and to create commercial partnerships. The company’s projects include: working with six NHS Scientist Training Programme regions and an Irish hospital group on the integration of pathology services; advising 11 NHS trusts to develop private and overseas patient strategy; and advising three trusts on commercial revenue generation options. Hugh’s previous positions include: UK chief executive of Synlab, a European pathology group, where he created a joint venture with The Christie; commercial director at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust; chief executive of Interhealth Canada in Europe; business development director of United Health Europe; chief executive of BUPA Dental; and chief executive of Aid-Call. Hugh’s early career was in strategic consultancy with Bain & Co. He is an engineering graduate from Cambridge University.
